Kate Stannard is a Live Artist, Performer and Lecturer in Contemporary Performance Practice at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow. She is also a qualified fitness professional and yoga instructor and hers arts practice explores meditative,  body based performance actions that question her understandings of  self, time and being.

Manifesto

Within my arts practice I search for new ways to understand, engage with and experience my audience, my body, my self, my environment and space.

I feel the increasing need for human connection and through my work I attempt to create situations that open up the possibility for, sometimes brief but, meaningful moments of intimacy between ‘performer’ and ‘audience’.

I am concerned with the psychosomatic, the interrelationship between body and mind. My arts practice is an ongoing exploration of my ‘self’; body, mind, identity, and consciousness, and is heavily influenced by my Journey with Yoga and meditation”
